History of Mount Abu

Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, has a rich history that blends spirituality and natural beauty. According to Hindu mythology, Mount Abu is named after Arbuda, a serpent who saved Lord Shiva’s mount, Nandi. The town has been a retreat for many saints and sages throughout history. Its cool climate and scenic surroundings made it a favored summer retreat for the royal families of Rajasthan.

Mount Abu is also home to the famous Dilwara Temples, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, which are considered some of the finest examples of Jain architecture in India. Today, it remains a popular destination for both pilgrims and nature lovers.
